Ian Williams - Bass/Baritone

Ian Michael Williams, bass-baritone, is originally from Indianapolis. He is a recent graduate from the University of Michigan with a dual degree in Voice Performance and Theatre Arts. During his time at U of M Ian participated in various activities, including a cappella, film, theatrical productions, vocal jazz, and voiceover work. Ian has been enjoying his time as a full-time Vocal Artist with Heartland Sings since 2015.

Teaching Philosophy

Singing is a universal language that should be cherished and nurtured, so as a teacher, I focus on helping my students find their most beautiful and natural voice. I do not believe that the student should be a passive learner, but should be engaged in a discovery process with the teacher. My voice lessons are a process where I work with a student to address issues in order to make singing as easy as possible. In the end, I strive to assist my students in gaining confidence in their voices and ultimately themselves.
