Exploring La Misa Criolla by Ariel Ramírez and "breaking down walls to find happiness" with Andrea Salazar, soprano ecuatoriana.

Today (08/16) we talked with Andrea Salazar, doctoral student in voice performance and master's program of arts administration at the University of Kentucky as well as part time teaching artist at Heartland Sings, creator of the Canto de Corazón summer program with the YMCA - Renaissance Pointe.

English Bio

Ecuadorian Soprano, Andrea Salazar has participated in multiple productions with the Berliner Philharmoniker conducted by Sir Simon Rattle, the Philadelphia Orchestra conducted by Yannick Nézet-Séguin and the Orchestra of St. Luke’s, conducted by Pablo Heras-Casado. She holds a B.S. in Vocal Performance from Westminster Choir College of Rider University, and  M. M in Vocal Performance from the University of Kentucky. Mrs. Salazar-Pastor is pursuing her Doctoral Degree in Vocal Performance at the University of Kentucky under the guidance of Dr. Everett McCorvey as well as the Master in Arts Administration.

Soprano ecuatoriana, Andrea Salazar ha participado en múltiples producciones con la Filarmónica de Berlín dirigida por Sir Simon Rattle, la Orquesta de Filadelfia dirigida por Yannick Nézet-Séguin y la Orquesta de San Lucas dirigida por Pablo Heras-Casado. Andrea obtuvo su Licenciatura en Interpretación Vocal en Westminster Choir College of Rider University, y un Masterado en Interpretación Vocal de la Universidad de Kentucky. Andrea Salazar-Pástor es estudiante del Doctorado en Artes Musicales en Interpretación Vocal en la Universidad de Kentucky bajo la tutela del Dr. Everett McCorvey, al mismo tiempo es estudiante del Masterado en Administración de las Artes. Christie is a five-time HSPA award-winning writer with a long resume of creative, compelling writing. Her background includes journalism and marketing, which allows her to bring a specialized voice to the pieces created for her clients. On her own, Christie has written for newspapers, online magazines and major publications. For her clients, Christie produces web designs, press and media releases, blog articles, downloadable worksheets and flyers as well as social media content.
