Heartland Sings to spark inspiration with ‘Beckoning Light’ this month

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Heartland Sings is bringing a flame of inspiration to First Wayne Street United Methodist Church this month.

The flame will ignite during Beckoning Light, the organization’s first concert in its new Season of Light, on Oct. 12 at 4 p.m.

A chorus, piano, string quartet and guest speaker Dr. Pascal Losambe will set the stage for a contemplative program, exploring light as a theme for a better future, finding light in the darkness and using light as a guide.

“This concert is an invitation to seek light, to become light and to share it,” said Natalie Young, Heartland Sings’ Artistic Director. “In a time when so many are looking for meaning, Beckoning Light offers music that inspires connection, reflection and forward movement. Because even in the darkness, we are never alone.”

Featured pieces include works from Eric Whitacre, Dolly Parton, Coldplay and more. The performance also includes the concert’s centerpiece: Ola Gjeilo’s “Dark & Luminous Night.”

Season tickets and individual Beckoning Light tickets are still available. For more information about the Season of Light or to purchase tickets, click here or call 260-436-8080.
