Every morning, I get up around 5 a.m., feed the fur creatures that live in my home (and who remind me daily that I am a servant) and make coffee. Once I have my brewed cup of java, I sit in quiet solitude (cats notwithstanding) to meditate, contemplate life, and, on occasion, have a heart to heart with my Creator.

It is both an honor and a joy to welcome you to A Choral Testament. For 28 years, I have welcomed audiences to Heartland Sings concerts and, as this is my last as the Artistic Director, today is rather monumental. It marks the beginning of a new chapter for this company and for me, and my sense of nostalgia on this day is embraced by a core excitement for what the future holds.

Heartland Sings to Present 'Celtic Landscapes'
Heartland Sings’ “Celtic Landscapes” returns to Fort Wayne with performances on March 15 at 7:30 p.m. and March 16 at 3 p.m. at Bergstaff Place, featuring powerful vocals, traditional Celtic instruments, and lively folk tunes. Heartland Sings to Receive Challenge America Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts
We are so happy to announce that the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) has awarded us a Challenge America grant of $10,000. This grant will allow our ART-V, a traveling RV that brings performances to its audience, to expand its reach to more rural areas.

Maestro Robert Nance wins ‘Sagamore of the Wabash’ award
Governor Eric Holcomb awarded Maestro Nance the Sagamore of the Wabash officially on October 17, 2024. Receiving the Sagamore of the Wabash is a tribute to someone who has rendered a distinguished service to the state of Indiana or to the Governor, and as such has contributed significantly to the Hoosier Heritage.
Plymouth Congregational Church Hosting Concert For Motherhood Concert: Songs of Motherhood
A free concert featuring soprano Natalie Young, mezzo soprano Ashlee Bickley, and pianist Nicole Busarow will explore in music the triumphs and trials of early motherhood. The concert will take place on Sunday, February 9th at 2 p.m. at Plymouth Congregational Church.

After moving back to Kansas City, Brian joined the Lyric Opera of Kansas City Chorus. He has been in several productions, including the “Sound of Music,” where he played Herr Zeller, and the chorus of “The Shining” by Paul Moravec, which was recorded and released last month.
